Bayern Munich fights for offensive talents: Gakpo or Diaz?

FC Bayern Munich is facing an exciting transfer period and is looking for a new offensive star to strengthen the team for the coming season. The sports director Max Eberl in particular thrown an eye on Luis Diaz from Liverpool. This option arises, since Real Madrid refrains from selling Rodrygo, which brings the change from Diaz to play. The Colombian winger moved from Porto to Liverpool for 54 million euros in January 2022 and has since developed to an important part of the team. Despite this positive development around Diaz, his departure for Liverpool could be a challenge, since at the same time they do not intend to have contracts for an extension with him, while an offer from Barcelona has already been rejected this summer, reports Liverpool.com.

But Diaz is not the only option on Eberl's list. The German record champion also shows interest in Cody Gakpo, another Liverpool Winger. Gakpo really went for the Reds last season and scored an impressive 18 goals in 49 competitive games, supplemented by 7 templates. Contact has already been made between the management of Gakpo and Bavaria, which shows that Bayern have a good hand when it comes to signing talents. The increasing need for additional offensive power arises primarily through the impending departure of Leroy Sane, which is rumored to switch to Galatasaray.

other candidates for the offensive

Bayern's transfer search also leads to other names that get into the talk. In addition to Diaz and Gakpo, Jamie Gitten from Borussia Dortmund and Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are on the piece. Gitten has received a tempting offer from Chelsea, while Dortmund requested at least 65 million euros and has already rejected several offers. Barcola is considered a desired player, but PSG does not want to hand it over and demands at least 80 million euros.

In addition, Nico Williams from Athletic Club is currently in talks with Bavaria after deciding to choose Barcelona as the next step into his career. Rafael Leão from AC Milan and Gabriel Martinelli von Arsenal are also considered possible reinforcements. Bayern are therefore challenged to find the suitable player who revives the offensive after the departure of Sane.

The challenge will not be under pressure Liverpool, especially since Florian Wirtz is also a hot iron in the transfer period. In this back and forth between clubs and players it is clear that Bavaria needs reinforcements for the offensive this summer. In the coming time, it will be shown which decisions the Munich will bring to the top.
