CSD Bayreuth 2025: Never be quiet again – celebration of diversity!

In Bayreuth in July 2025, everything revolves around the joy and rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. The Queer Bayreuth e. V. has now set the course for Christopher Street Day (CSD) 2025. Like that Bayreuther Tagblatt reports, the colorful demonstration will take place on Saturday, July 26, 2025 and has the motto “Never stand still again”. The aim is to draw attention to the challenges and setbacks in the acceptance of queer people.

The CSD demonstration begins with the opening act at 3:00 p.m. at the Ehrenhof. From there, the train takes a varied route through the city, including past the town hall and the Rotmain Center, until it returns to the Ehrenhof. The final rally is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and expects exciting speeches and a colorful program of musical performances, including drag artists such as Bridget Brilliant and the band Schrödingers Taube.

Pride Week: A colorful supporting program

The CSD is accompanied by an extensive Pride Week, which takes place from July 21st to 27th. Numerous events invite you to address the topic of queerness and celebrate the community. A selection of the events is:

  • 21. Juli: HIV & STI Schnelltests (17:00-19:00) an der Uni Bayreuth – kostenlos
  • 23. Juli: Drag-Workshop (19:00) im Theaterraum der Uni Bayreuth, 4 € (Studis 3 €)
  • 24. Juli: Queere Tierparkführung (17:00) im Tierpark Röhrensee – „pay as you wish“
  • 25. Juli: Queer Café (16:00-19:00) im TransitionHaus – kostenlos
  • 26. Juli: CSD Afterparty (21:00) im Glashaus Bayreuth

Pride Week also offers space for initiatives such as speed dating and queer-focused get-togethers, as well as an ecumenical devotion, which are intended to encourage people to linger and think. The queer gaming event is particularly interesting and will certainly appeal to many young people.

Commitment and participation

The organizers are calling on anyone interested to register as running groups for the demonstration or to get involved in other ways. Volunteer helpers are wanted to carry out various tasks, from folder duties to organization. If you would like to get actively involved, you can easily do so via email or Instagram.

The costs for Pride Week and the CSD are not insignificant. Donations are therefore welcome at any time and will contribute to the successful implementation of the event. The meetings of the organizational group take place online every two weeks on Mondays at 7:00 p.m., where committed colleagues are warmly invited to contribute their ideas and suggestions.

In an ever-changing environment, it is more important than ever to strengthen the visibility and rights of the LGBTQIA+ community. The CSD in Bayreuth will be a celebration of diversity and a strong signal of solidarity throughout Germany. At a time when other cities like Munich celebrate the CSD in June, Bayreuth is demonstrating its very own touch in the colorful CSD calendar of 2025 - and beyond. What matters for the queer community is sticking together and being visible!
