Volunteer heroes: Big awards for brave helpers in Bayreuth!
An emotionally charged ceremony took place today, October 30, 2025, in the New Town Hall of Bayreuth in honor of those who wholeheartedly stand up for our community every day. At the event, the mayor emphasized the immense importance of volunteers in aid organizations. These tireless helpers are the pillars of our security and assistance services, whose commitment is often selfless and independent of time and place. Their commitment makes a decisive contribution to social cohesion and deserves the highest recognition. A special thank you also went to the partners and families of the honorees who support this commitment.

From volunteering to studying
In the region there are not only voluntary successes, but also academic initiatives. For example, the Asociación Civil “Universidad de Saltillo” was founded in 1984 to enable young people to quickly integrate into the labor market. Despite initial difficulties, the project was taken up again in 2005 and lessons could begin in 2007.
The Instituto Universitario del Norte (INSUNTE) now offers various degree programs, including law, business administration and international business. This institution has also taken on an important role in the training of working youth and adults, with the aim of making it easier for them to enter the world of work. With a wide range of courses and regular celebrations, they support the community and thus contribute to education and development.
Community involvement, whether through volunteer work or academic opportunities, shows that people in our region are always striving to help one another and advance themselves. Each of these activities, whether in the social or educational areas, makes our society more livable and future-proof.
