Innovation boost for Bayreuth: start-up center takes off!
There is a lot of work being done on the future in the Bayreuth region. The planned Regional Innovation and Start-up Center (RIZ) is intended to create a central location that supports existing companies in their transformation and at the same time opens up new paths for craftsmen. The RIZ has set itself the goal of accompanying start-ups on their path to development and is supported by numerous entrepreneurs from the region, according to inbayreuth.de.
Jörg Lichtenegger, chairman of the Bayreuth IHK committee, is convinced that the RIZ offers a unique opportunity. Young founders and established companies should come together here to inspire each other and promote innovation. The challenges such as the succession problem in many companies should be actively addressed. There are also great opportunities in the craft sector, which go hand in hand with better access to new technologies and scientific knowledge.
A strong network for founders
The RIZ sees itself as an innovation platform that wants to provide impulses for corporate cooperation. According to Stefan Weißflach, Managing Director of SW Color Lackfabrik GmbH, this gives companies the opportunity to directly access research results and expand their innovative strength. SIGMUND LINDNER GmbH also sees the RIZ as a valuable interface to the University of Bayreuth in order to retain talent and specialist knowledge in the region.
The BF/M Bayreuth, which acts as a networking authority in the Bayreuth start-up ecosystem, pursues a similar goal. Networking is very important here. The DGZ2 project approach promotes exchange between those interested in starting a business and small and medium-sized companies and also offers supra-regional events such as the “5 Euro Business” competition. Such events are intended to further brighten the start-up climate and promote the exchange of knowledge between young entrepreneurs and established companies.
Strengthening the startup ecosystem
A good start-up ecosystem in which actors such as educational institutions, companies and investors work together harmoniously is the key to success for start-ups. The approach of the RKW Competence Center highlights precisely these aspects and offers comprehensive support for the development of regional networks. A solid plan for designing these ecosystems is to analyze the various regional elements and specifically connect them with each other.
The RIZ, initiated by the IHK and district craftsmen's association, combines this know-how and the support of local entrepreneurs to create a lively innovation location. With the right instinct, it will be possible to make the region visible not only as a location for young founders, but also as a place where innovation and tradition go hand in hand. Bayreuth becomes a vibrant center for creative enterprise.
