City of Bayreuth: Massive road closures and diversions from July!
The city of Bayreuth is currently facing some challenges in the form of road closures and diversions, which will affect the traffic situation in the city area. Future construction sites have already been announced and some are underway, which will particularly affect motorists at the moment.
Construction work is continuing on Eduard-Bayerlein-Straße, which will result in a one-way system in the direction of Berliner Platz. This diversion leads via Gutenbergstrasse, the Nordring and “An der Feuerwache”. The vehicles traveling in opposite directions will be redirected via Casselmannstrasse, Hindenburgstrasse, Nordring and “An der Feuerwache”. Residents and road users will probably have to adapt to these restrictions by the end of September.
Construction work in detail
Another construction site concerns Oswald-Merz-Straße, where there will be a complete closure between Erlanger Straße and Rupprechtstrasse from July 21st to 31st. This measure is necessary to lay a water pipe. Access to the construction site remains possible for residents. The diversion takes place via Bismarckstraße, Wittelsbacherring and Erlanger Straße.
In addition, from July 21st to probably August 8th, Spitzwegstrasse will become a one-way street in the direction out of the city between Böcklinstrasse and house numbers 44 to 46. House connection work is being carried out here, which also requires traffic to be rerouted.
In addition to construction site operations, various types of construction sites are also managed in Bayreuth. These include, among other things, so-called traveling construction sites that do not last longer than 24 hours. This includes cleaning, green maintenance or marking work. Night construction sites are also part of the offer to carry out work that is difficult to carry out during the day. The permanent construction sites can involve renovations or new construction of traffic facilities, but due to their length they do not lead to traffic restrictions.
For everyone who regularly travels around Bayreuth, you can find comprehensive information about the current construction sites on the website baustellen.bayreuth.de. This data is useful for adjusting to changing traffic conditions in good time and finding alternative routes.
The city of Bayreuth continues to have a good hand in planning road construction measures in order to sustainably improve the infrastructure.
