Julien Pursch becomes the new district chairman of the Junge Union Niederbayern!

In an exciting election process, the Junge Union (JU) Niederbayern elected Julien Pursch from Niederalteich as the new district chairman last Saturday. The new election took place at the district assembly in Kirchham, where Pursch, at the age of 25, can already look back on an impressive career. He works as a finance officer in the Bavarian State Chancellery and has been active in the JU since 2017, where, in addition to his new position, he is also involved in other organizations such as the VdK, Caritas and as a church administrator. His goal: to bring the voice of young people more into political debates.

After his election, Pursch placed a strong emphasis on the importance of the upcoming local elections in March 2026. “We have to become visible and take responsibility,” he explained and at the same time called for more media response for the JU. The strategy of developing a strong basis for future mayoral candidates is also one of the guiding principles that Pursch would like to implement with his new management team.

The new management team

Under Pursch's leadership, a committed team will continue to advance JU Niederbayern. The deputy chairmen include Christoph Weishäupl, Thomas Buchner, Emanuel Montgelas and Thomas Brunner. Maximilian Zitzelsberger will act as treasurer, while Michaela Lochner and Sebastian Graup will take over the office of secretary. Clara Brücklmayer is the digital representative.

Numerous prominent guests were present at the election, including State Minister Christian Bernreiter and JU state chairman Christian Doleschal. Manfred Weber, EPP party and parliamentary group leader, also took the opportunity to congratulate digitally and show his support. JU district chairman Stefan Zitzelsberger proudly expressed his appreciation for the commitment and reliability of the new board members.

With its new board, the JU Lower Bavaria not only wants to give a clear voice for the concerns of young people in the upcoming local elections, but also develop political positions in a wide variety of subject areas. “We have twelve active district associations and many committed members who will work together to advance our goals,” says Pursch, looking optimistically into the future. Steinmetz's support also showed how strongly the JU is rooted in the region and can create a solid basis for new things. Reliability and commitment continue to be the focus of their work.

With his election, Julien Pursch has gained the trust of the JU Lower Bavaria Initiative, and now it is up to him and his team to turn these expectations into reality. An exciting political year lies ahead – the Junge Union is ready!
