The Green Devils Schrobenhausen basketball players celebrated their home premiere in the 2025/26 season with an exciting win against DJK Eichstätt at the weekend. The match ended with a close 61:56 and shows that the women are still at the top of the Schwaben Nord district league. Coach Josef Eiglmeier had warned before the game not to underestimate Eichstätt, and his concerns came true as the game was competitive until the last minute. After the first quarter, Schrobenhausen was behind 16:22, but was able to pull ahead to 36:35 by halftime.
Leni Schäfer was particularly outstanding, becoming the game's top scorer with 34 points. Their personal fever on the field contributed significantly to their success. The commitment and fighting spirit of the entire team were praised by Coach Eiglmeier, especially given the fact that some regular players, including Sarah-Marie Moritz, were missing from the game. The next challenges are already around the corner, with matches against TSV Nördlingen II on November 16th and TSV Etting-Ingolstadt on November 22nd, which Eiglmeier is convinced will be among the stronger teams in the league.
Table position and future challenges
With the win against Eichstätt, the Green Devils have consolidated their place at the top of the district league. A challenging game against TSV Sonthofen, who recently defeated the Green Devils 100:78, is still remembered. In this match, the Sonthofen team showed their dominance over 40 minutes and thus took the lead in the table. Player-coach Tim Eisenhauer was pleasantly surprised by the control of the game and praised his team's ability to adapt when faced with difficulties.
