Höchstetten celebrates: 20 years of friendship at the international meeting!

On June 23, 2025, over 500 participants from various places called Hofstetten met for the 20th International Hofstetten Meeting in Eichstätt. The municipality of Hofstetten in the Altmühltal Nature Park hosted this special event for the third time, which takes place every two years. The aim was to make new acquaintances, renew old friendships and spend a sociable weekend together. This meeting was not only for the participants from the region, but also attracted guests from more distant Hofstetten, such as Hofstetten near Landsberg/Lech, Hofstetten near Roth, Hofstetten near Hilpoltstein, Hofstetten near Königsberg, Hofstetten in the Black Forest, Hofstetten in Switzerland (Flüh), Hofstetten in Churfranken and Hofstetten in Austria (Grünau).

The accommodation for the participants was varied: from mass camps to private accommodation to hotels and holiday apartments, there was something for everyone. A varied program provided entertainment, including celebratory hours in the festival tent, during which many participants treated themselves to a large beer or a tasty snack. Sports competitions such as a football and beach volleyball tournament were also very well received. The “Höschter team” achieved fourth place in both tournaments, which did not lessen the mood among the participants.

Musical highlights

The meeting was musically accompanied by the Hofstetten am Main brass band, which, after a break of almost three years, presented itself at a music festival in Langenprozelten with an impressive line-up of 26 musicians. The brass band played to loud applause both at the pageant and at the “Homeland Evening” and got the guests in a celebratory mood. The next performances are already scheduled: On May 29th, the band will be heard at the kindergarten festival in Höchst and on June 16th at the Kirb in Reichenbuch, before finally appearing on July 31st at the ASV Frühschoppen at the sports field blaskapelle.hofstetten-main.de reports that ….

A special highlight of the meeting was the official announcement of the next organizer for the 21st Hofstetten meeting in 2027, which will take place in Hofstetten near Flüh in Switzerland. This shows how strong the connection between the different Hofstetten is and how the residents of these places celebrate their commonality across borders.

Events in the Altmühltal Nature Park

While the Hofstetten meeting in Eichstätt was a complete success, the Altmühltal Nature Park will also be hosting further exciting events in the coming weeks. For example, a sneaker tour of the Germanic National Museum is planned for June 28th, followed by a solo concert for trombone and guitar on June 13th.
