Tragic accident in Sankt Wolfgang: Driver 43 dies after Crash!
A tragic accident shook the municipality of Sankt Wolfgang on Monday morning. A 43-year-old driver came off the street for reasons that have so far been unexplained and lost his life. The accident occurred between Jeßling and Freiling, where the man's vehicle crashed into a tree, was thrown back onto the street and finally overturned to stay on the right. The dramatic circumstances required the immediate use of the rescue workers, which were alerted around 5 a.m. after a 54-year-old driver discovered the crashed car. Unfortunately, you could only find the driver's death, which was certainly a hard blow for everyone present.
As a result of the accident, a considerable total damage of around 20,000 euros occurred on the vehicle. The best hour of the voluntary fire departments of Sankt Wolfgang, Jeßling and Dorfen was challenged to secure the scene of the accident and block the road on both sides for several hours. The police ask for information on clarifying the exact cause of the accident and therefore lets you contact the Dorfen police inspection on 08081/93 05-0.
traffic accidents in Germany
This tragic incident is part of a variety of traffic accidents that occur annually in Germany and the entire EU. According to the current statistics, around 3,000 traffic fatalities per year are registered in Germany, with the numbers vary. In a broader context, the statistics show that between 2010 and 2020 the number of racing dead in Europe decreased by remarkable 36 percent. Unfortunately, thousands of people in the EU usually lose their lives on the streets every year. In 2020, the number of traffic fatalities in the EU was 22,800, which shows that despite all the progress, there is still an urgent need for action.
The accident statistics are not only an expression of the current traffic situation, but also an important basis for political decisions, since the traffic analysis changes continuously. These statistics promote preventive measures in areas such as road construction and vehicle technology, so that such tragic accidents may soon belong to the past.
The role of age groups
The influence of the age group on accident statistics is particularly striking. In 2018, 12 percent of the traffic fatalities between the ages of 18 and 24 were old, although this group is only 8 percent of the population. However, the decline in racing dead in this age group of 43 percent since 2010 has been a glimmer of hope. At the same time, the proportion of over 65-year-olds rose from 22 percent in 2010 to 28 percent in 2018.
The statistics clearly show that men are disproportionately involved in traffic accidents, which is recognizable in all Member States and remains largely unchanged.
In this tragic situation in Sankt Wolfgang, it is once again shown how important it is to take traffic safety seriously and think beyond your own limits. Because only together can we help to complain about fewer tragic fates on our streets. The insight and preventive measures are particularly important in such sad times.
