E-bike robbers at the train station: police are looking for witnesses!
What happened at Bubenreuth train station in the early morning hours of September 30, 2025 is still a topic of conversation. A red e-bike worth around 2,000 euros was stolen between 5 and 6 a.m. Despite being safely parked with a lock, the bike did not remain untouched as the lock was forced open and disposed of next to the shelter. The suspected perpetrator was wearing a highly reflective jacket, dark blue jeans and a black backpack. It was noticeable that the bicycle helmet was not worn, but carried on a backpack. Information about this incident can be given to the Erlangen-Land police station on 09131/988420.
But that wasn't the only incident that concerned people in the region. On October 2, 2025 at 7:45 a.m. it occurred in Höchstadt a. d. Aisch on a traffic accident caused by a 76-year-old Italian car driver. The driver repeatedly veered off the road, hit a hedge and finally ended up in a ditch. During the subsequent police check, a clear smell of alcohol was detected. A breath alcohol test showed 0.36 per mille. To ensure that all legal aspects were taken into account, the public prosecutor ordered a blood sample. The material damage to the vehicle amounts to around 25,000 euros - this does not include further damage to the hedge. Fortunately, everyone involved remained uninjured, and the Höchstadt police station a. d. Aisch takes over the further investigation.
Alcohol-related accidents in Germany – A serious statistic
Alcohol as a factor in traffic accidents is an issue that is important not only locally, but also nationwide. According to the Federal Statistical Office's figures, which were published on the Statista platform, alcohol-related traffic accidents are actually a problem that cannot be ignored, which was particularly documented between 1995 and 2024. The data, which was published on July 9, 2025, shows what the road safety situation is like in Germany. The statistics are not just numbers, they form the basis for important measures in the areas of legislation, traffic education and road construction.
The goals of these statistics are clear: to record accidents and their causes in detail in order to provide structured and nationwide comparable data. This has a positive impact on transport policy as this information is used to improve road infrastructure and road safety. The evaluations are particularly relevant for risk assessment in traffic.
The extensive work of the Federal Statistical Office helps to raise awareness of the risks and dangers in road traffic. In a time when mobility is highly individual, we must all take responsibility and pay attention to safety - both for ourselves and for other road users.
The current events in Höchstadt and the general data on alcohol-related accidents show that responsible use of vehicles and awareness of drunk driving are more necessary than ever. The police and other organizations are ready to provide information and help.
