Free bouldering therapy: coping with stress for young people in Bavaria!
Lately in the world of therapy, everything is about a new, active method for promoting the mental health of young people: bouldering. A promising project entitled "Boost - Boulder yourself: Boulder psychotherapy against depression and stress" is headed by the psychiatric and psychotherapeutic clinic of the University Hospital Erlangen. It was recently known that the study will be expanded to the age group of 13- to 18-year-olds in order to give even more young people the opportunity to benefit from this innovative form of therapy. [UK Erlangen] (https://www.uk-erlangen.de/pressemitteilungen/ansicht/detail/kosten therapy- fuer-jugendliche-online-info evening/) reports that the first results are already promising and that the study group already gives very positive feedback on self-efficacy and psychological strength.
For everyone who is interested in participating, there is good news: Information events take place online. On July 2 and July 17, 2025, young people and their parents can learn more about the study at 6:00 p.m. These offers are non -binding and can be used without a camera or microphone, which is a stress -free way for many to collect more information. Registration for participation in the study is already possible, and participation itself is free of charge, thanks to the support from the Bavarian State Ministry of Health, Care and Prevention, which provides over 800,000 euros [Institute of Health] (https://institut-der-gesundheit.com/gesundheit/bouldern-fuer--jugendliche--------novie- ernovative therapy).
How does bouldering psychotherapy work?
The program comprises a total of ten therapeutically accompanied bouldering units, within which the participants learn strategies for self -confidence, mindfulness and resilience. The units take place in groups of up to ten young people in various bouldering halls in Erlangen, Nuremberg, Bamberg and Regensburg. The focus is on support from experienced therapists who accompany and promote the bouldering experiences of the participants.
The aim of this form of therapy is to help the young people concerned to deal with stress and psychological stress better. Bouldering, a form of climbing without a rope, has turned out to be effective in studies to improve mental health fau. Appealing and motivating offers should further strengthen the self -efficacy and psychological strength of the young people, so that they can better deal with the challenges of life.
A call to participate
For young people between the ages of 13 and 18, this is a great opportunity to take part in a free, professionally accompanied therapy. The first groups start in October 2025 and January 2026, and there are no long waiting times for the start of the course. If you want to learn more about the conditions of participation, you can contact Prof. Dr. Accept Katharina Luttenberger on 09131 85-34650 or by email to boulderdichstark.ps (at) uk-erlangen.de.
This initiative shows that there are innovative ways to support young people in their mental health. To actively act and ensure more self -confidence and resilience could be the key to help young people cope in a complex and often stressful world.
