Full closure of the B2: construction site between Germering and Puchheim from June 23rd!

From June 23rd it will be uncomfortable for drivers again on Bundesstraße 2 between Germering Nord and Puchheim-Ort. How Unser-wuermtal.de reported, the route will probably be completely closed until July 13, 2025. The reason for this measure is significant road damage, which has not only affected safety but also traffic flow.

In this context, the Freising State Building Authority is responsible for the renovation work. It is recommended to use the signposted diversions to avoid possible delays. Motorists from Fürstenfeldbruck should be redirected via Gröbenzell (U 4) towards the Munich-Lochhausen junction, while those who want to leave the A 99 at Germering Nord will be routed via the Munich-Lochhausen junction and the demand-oriented U 21 diversion route. In the event of bad weather, changes to the construction schedule may occur.

But why are such renovations even necessary? Loud StBAFS Much of the current damage is caused by everyday use combined with weather influences. In this case it is a significant section that is essential not only for commuters but also for freight transport.

The condition of our roads and highways is repeatedly discussed in political discussions. The Bundestag recently approved the budget of the Federal Ministry for Digital Affairs and Transport. He resigned Federal Minister Volker Wissing states that high priority will be placed on the renovation of the rail network.

Investments in infrastructure

The numbers speak for themselves: the budget for 2024 envisages spending 44.15 billion euros on the transport sector, significantly more than in the previous year. However, this does not come without resistance. The Union criticizes, among other things, the high costs of CO2 taxes and the increase in truck tolls. But while some denounce these huge holes in the treasury, others emphasize the importance of solid investments in infrastructure, including both roads and railways.

The construction work on the B2 is therefore part of a larger picture that could affect our transport infrastructure. It remains to be hoped that the work will progress quickly and efficiently so that drivers can soon get to their destination again without detours. From our point of view, everyone has the opportunity to contribute to road safety – through patience and consideration on the road.
