The reason for the diversion is clear: the Passau State Building Authority has launched measures that are intended to improve not only traffic safety, but also the traffic quality at the intersection of federal highway 12. The focus is on converting the junction of state road 2132 with the B12, which will function as a junction in the future. Work on the bypass is already underway and is expected to last until May 2025. The upcoming renovation will see the B12 lowered in this area. A roundabout is also planned to be built above the B12 with connecting ramps.
