Pure nostalgia: vintage car meeting in Olching delights machine lovers!

The charming oneGood GraßlfingLast weekend, Olching was once again the venue for lovers of old machines and nostalgic two-wheelers. The Bulldog and Simson meeting took place here for the eighth time, attracting numerous visitors from all over the region. Shortly before 9 a.m. the sounds of the machines filled the chestnut meadow and gave the event the right nostalgic touch.

Among the many exhibitors was the couple Willi (62) and Moni (52) from Geiselbullach, who are both passionate bulldog owners. Moni's special piece of jewelry, a 1955 Eicher bulldog, particularly stood out and was a topic of conversation among those in attendance. But other vintage cars were also admired, such as an old machine from Schlüter, which once served as the main engine for sawing machines. The event also featured a colorful range of Simson two-wheelers, with the Simson S51 as the main attraction. These motorcycles have a special meaning because they were particularly popular in the former GDR and are now very popular with collectors.

Nostalgia and family celebration

The organizers had put together a great program. A white sausage breakfast, which was very well received by the visitors, provided for physical well-being. For the little guests there was also a bouncy castle and the opportunity for face painting, so that the younger ones also got their money's worth.

There was also a special highlight of the event in connection with a Kreidler MF 4 from 1970. This treasure was discovered in a barn and lovingly repaired, with new tires, a fresh fuel tap and a new hose - a great project that makes the hearts of classic car lovers beat faster. The proceeds from the raffle for the moped, which took place at the summer festival on July 5th, will go to a youth center, which will use it to plan a trip to a technology museum. The tickets were limited to a maximum of 250 pieces and could only be purchased during the festival for 4 euros.

The Bulldog and Simson meeting not only became a celebration of nostalgia, but also an important platform for community and support for regional initiatives. This shows once again that there is no age when it comes to enjoying old machines and that enthusiasm for traditions is passed on from generation to generation.

For everyone who didn't make it this time, there will certainly be another opportunity next year to discover the fascinating world of classic cars and enjoy the social atmosphere. Another reason to mark the next event in your calendar!
