Hallescher FC wins dramatically: 2-1 against Greuther Fürth!

The world of football is currently all about preparing for the coming season. A look at some notable test matches shows how the teams fare in the hot phase of sweat and tactics. The meeting between Hallescher FC and second division club Greuther Fürth was particularly interesting.

Hallescher FC was in impressive form in front of 945 spectators at the Ronhof sports park and won 2-1. Joscha Wosz equalized shortly before half-time (41st minute) before Lucas Ehrlich scored the decisive goal in stoppage time, which made the HFC celebrate. This successful performance joins a series of impressive results, including a 16-0 win against SV Merseburg 99, like Sports show reported.

The fates of the highway competitors

FSV Zwickau, on the other hand, was less successful and suffered a 3-1 defeat in the game against 1. FC Nürnberg II. Randolf Riesen scored the consolation goal in the final minute. Despite the defeat, all was not lost for Zwickau, as the team was able to successfully play another test match when they won 1-0 against the upper division club VfB Auerbach, this time thanks to new signing Daniel Haubner, who scored in the 2nd minute.

Overall, Chemnitzer FC had a strong preparation until there was a setback on July 9th: in the 0-1 defeat against the Czech second division team FK Ústí nad Labem, the team had to accept its first goal in preparation. The decisive goal came in the 4th minute by Pavel Moulis. Top performer Robert Zickert had to take a break due to health problems and will be out for an indefinite period of time. However, one bright spot remains that Chemnitz still won 2-1 against Greuther Fürth's U23s, with both goals coming in the final phase, see MDR.

A look over the region

Another notable game took place between FC Carl Zeiss Jena and SpVgg Bayern Hof. Jena really turned up the heat after the break and scored four goals in just six minutes, which led to a clear 6-1 win. This performance could indicate that the team is in high demand next season.

Meanwhile, ZFC Meuselwitz was challenged in an exciting duel against VFC Plauen, which ended in a 3-3 draw. René Eckardt and Florian Hansch were able to score for Meuselwitz, but had to accept an equalizer from Valentin Sponer shortly before the final whistle. Everyday business continues with the next test match in which Rot-Weiß Erfurt plays against the baroque city of Fulda in the evening.

The coming week already presents new challenges in the form of further test games, including Chemnitz against the U23 from Greuther Fürth. It will be exciting to see how the teams continue to perform, because the preparatory season is a crucial moment for every club.

We will continue to monitor developments in the region. Stay tuned!
