Christmas market moves to the spa park: a winter fairy tale awaits us!

A reorganization is pending in Garmisch-Partenkirchen: The traditionally popular Christmas market will be moving from Richard-Strauss-Platz to the Michael-Ende-Kurpark in 2025. After more than 25 years at its current location, the market will attract visitors to the spa park from November 21st to January 4th, where it can now shine for a total of six weeks. The Garmisch Center advertising association will take over the organization of the market, supported by GaPa Tourismus and SC Riessersee Mercury reported.

The new location in the spa park not only brings a breath of fresh air, but also a 15 by 20 meter ice surface that is ideal for ice skating and curling. This area is operated by SC Riessersee and can also be rented for special occasions such as Christmas parties or school classes. The atmosphere is further enhanced by the combination with the “Winter in the Park” event, creating a consistently wintry atmosphere.

Tradition meets new

The tried and tested traditions of the Christmas market will be preserved. This includes the popular boot campaign, the wishing tree as well as musical performances and face painting for the little visitors. After the holidays are over, GaPa Tourismus is planning atmospheric concerts in the spa park, where artists such as Fenzl, Gamskult and Lenze and de Buam will be on stage. The uniform lighting in the spa park is intended to ensure that the entrance shines particularly brightly and puts visitors in a festive mood.

Another advantage of moving to the spa park is the improved security situation. No bollards or barriers are needed at this new location. While visitors are looking forward to the Christmas atmosphere here, the hut magic will take place in neighboring Partenkirchen between December 27th and January 4th. It is located on the church square and offers a diverse supporting program with stalls and other events.
