Big news for those who like to travel in Bavaria: The new airline Flybird is planning its official launch with flights from September 2025. The Stuttgart start-up brings a breath of fresh air to regional air traffic and offers demand-oriented flights from smaller airports - a welcome change from the usual large airports.
The first flights will be offered from Hof Airport and CEO Anton Lutz has already announced the first connection to Mönchengladbach. This starts on September 1, 2025 with a departure at 9:15 a.m. But that's not all: international flights to Denmark, Sweden and the Netherlands are also planned.
Innovative partnerships and sustainable mobility
The airline has dealt with flyYellow, an experienced aviation operator from Passau, to introduce flexible, demand-oriented flight services in Germany. Flights are operated on the popular Cessna Grand Caravan aircraft, known for their flexibility. This partnership is widely seen as an important step in the development of regional air mobility.
Flyvbird pursues the goal of connecting unconnected regions and focuses on sustainability, customer convenience and efficiency. The dynamic on-demand services are already available for booking and passengers can submit their requests via Flyvbird's user-friendly platform.
A new chapter in European air transport
But something is happening not only in Bavaria: another new airline, FlyV, is also planning its launch in September 2025 at Bodensee Airport in Friedrichshafen. It will operate as the first fully AI-controlled on-demand airline in Europe, bringing innovative ideas to aviation.
FlyV's business model is based on an intelligent algorithm that allows passengers to make bookings flexibly. This airline aims to reactivate regional airports and significantly shorten travel times. This includes fixed scheduled connections to Mönchengladbach and Berlin-Strausberg, each of which is offered three times a week.
Overall, it shows that the aviation industry is facing exciting changes that not only offer travelers new opportunities, but also help connect less developed regions to the national and international jet set. With attractive prices starting at 109 euros, Flyvbird is sure to do a good deal and attract a lot of attention.
