A breath of fresh air for the Jusos: New board for youth policy in Ingolstadt!

The Jusos Ingolstadt brought a breath of fresh air into youth politics at their most recent annual general meeting. With the election of Nadine Praun as the new chairman and Almir Meta as co-chair, there are now two committed personalities at the helm of the organization. Praun, who previously served as co-chair and deputy chair, and Meta, who previously served as a delegate at district level, are ready to provide new impetus. This is intended to strengthen the role of the Jusos as the political voice of youth in Ingolstadt, which is also clear in the current membership development. According to Donaukurier, the increase in new members - many of whom are new to the city and bring fresh ideas with them - shows a growing interest in youth politics.

The Jusos have defined clear thematic priorities, ranging from education and affordable housing to climate justice and anti-fascism. Local political feminism is also on the agenda of the new board, which is introducing an internal work structure with clear responsibilities. This reorganized structure is designed to make the voice of the young generation audible and effective in the upcoming local election campaign, as O-Thoene reports.

Commitment and participation

The new board's next public meeting will be Thursday, July 10, at 6 p.m. All interested young people are invited to take part – be it as an active member or simply as a listener. Contact can be made easily via the SPD party office or the Instagram channel @jusosingolstadt. The return to political participation and the inclusion of young people in local decision-making processes are not only important for the Jusos, but also for society as a whole. Social and political participation is promoted by youth rings such as the municipal youth rings in North Rhine-Westphalia, which represent an important network for youth work actors, as the LJRNW emphasizes.

As part of their realignment, the Jusos plan to adopt their own youth policy positions after the summer break. These should then be incorporated into the SPD's local election program to ensure that the concerns and demands of young people are also taken into account in political planning. The Jusos thus position themselves clearly in the local political landscape and offer a platform for the concerns of young people in Ingolstadt.
