In a tragic incident, a male body was discovered on the rake of the hydropower plant near Poikam on Wednesday, January 29, 2025. The Landshut criminal police inspection has taken over the investigation and assumes that it is a 58-year-old man who has been missing from the district of Kelheim since January 23, 2025.
So far, there is no evidence of external or violence, which could steer the investigation in a new direction. After the man disappeared, comprehensive searches were started, in which the Kelheim police inspection mobilized numerous emergency services, including several police strips, a police and rescue helicopter as well as around 160 members of the fire brigade, Wasserwacht and DLRG.
