An exciting change has taken place in the Technical Relief Agency (THW) in Forchheim. 31-year-old Tobias Saffer takes over as the new local representative and brings a breath of fresh air to the local association. “I grew up with the THW,” says Saffer, who now wants to use his passion as a leader. In his new role, he faces several challenges that he wants to overcome with a strong team, with a focus on training and integrating new members. Last but not least, this goes hand in hand with the effort to make volunteering more attractive and to attract more people to THW. The Fraenkischer Tag reports.
Numerous reports and personal experiences with the organization show how important volunteering at THW is. During a visit to the Forchheim local association, at that time still under the leadership of Saffer as deputy local representative, those interested were able to take a comprehensive tour of the site. This structured and open atmosphere allowed the new members to ask questions and gain a good insight into the THW's expertise, which is used in areas such as power supply, pumps and logistics.
