Magical nights: Balloon glow delights in Mainleus at the weekend!

On the weekend of June 29, 2025, the New “Green Center” in Mainleus will be the venue for the big balloon glow, organized by Radio Plassenburg. On this special day, visitors young and old can look forward to a colorful program.

On the day, guests can look forward to a vehicle exhibition that will present many interesting models. There is also a wide range of food trucks, so there is something for every palate. The highlight of the evening is at 9:30 p.m.: the balloon glow, where the colorful balloons shine in a magical light. The wonderful summer temperatures promise a festive atmosphere, which is complemented by music and celebrations that last past midnight. “Numerous visitors” have already announced their arrival to experience this spectacle and enjoy the magical moments to the fullest.

Balloon week in Inzell

A completely different, but no less exciting event will be the Inzell Balloon Week, which will take place from January 22nd to 28th, 2023. 20 Dutch balloon teams will take part here and will enchant the sky with their colors. It starts on January 22nd with a balloon glow that starts at 4 p.m. The event is accompanied musically by “Boarisch X” and a spectacular, fascinating fire show. From 6 p.m., visitors can experience the balloon glow in an impressive choreography.

For those who would like to experience the dream of flying for themselves, there is the opportunity to take part in balloon rides. A free bus shuttle from the Max Aicher Arena takes visitors to the event site, where they can also park for 4 euros. Entry to the balloon glow is free, a great offer for the whole family!

The big balloon festival in Bonn

The next big balloon festival will take place in Bonn's Rheinaue in June 2026. 50 balloon teams and airships from Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Switzerland are expected to take part. The official opening of this event will take place on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. - a spectacular balloon launch will herald the ceremony.

A total of five balloon launches are planned over the three days of the festival, including two in the morning and three in the evening. A special highlight for families will be the family festival on Saturday and Sunday, which offers numerous activities for balloon fans “small and large”. The activities also include the opportunity to enjoy the Rheinaue from a balloon from a height of 50 meters. Traditionally, the balloon glow takes place on Saturday evening after the balloons have returned from the balloon ride.
