Carhartt opens new store in the Glockenbachviertel: an architectural highlight!
The well-known workwear manufacturer Carhartt has just opened its second store in Munich's Glockenbachviertel. The new branch on Reichenbachstrasse expands the brand's presence in southern Germany, where the first store is already located in the Schwabing district. With a sales area of around 120 square meters, the new store not only offers space for the current collection, but also space for local events and cultural collaborations.
The impressive architectural concept comes from the Milan office of Andrea Caputto and Salomée Faeh, who have created a space with great attention to detail that wonderfully reflects Bavarian architecture. The wooden facade pays homage to the region's traditional construction methods, while the interior design receives a stylish and modern touch with solid wooden elements, marble and steel details. These design elements reflect the brand's utilitarian roots and make the store a real eye-catcher.
Creative collaboration for the opening
To celebrate the reopening, Carhartt teamed up with British artist Jay Daniel Wright. Together they have created exclusive items including hoodies, t-shirts, tote bags and unique wooden pendants, all inspired by local features, including the glockenspiel at Marienplatz. Of particular note are two sculptures Wright designed that are inspired by folkloric art; they will be permanently displayed in the store.
This opening is part of Carhartt's strategy to build a stronger connection with the urban target group and support the local community. The brand regularly takes part in local events and is, among other things, an official partner of the “Go Skateboarding Week Cologne”, which will soon take place from June 16th to 21st. Here, skate enthusiasts can look forward to an exciting “Cash for Tricks” session and a big afterparty in the Carhartt store in Cologne.
That’s what makes the new store special
With the opening of the second store, Munich will not only have another sales shelf for Carhartt products, but also a location that will serve as a platform for cultural activities. Similar events are already planned for the Munich store, which are intended to bring the community together and promote creative talent.
Carhartt is therefore not only a name for high-quality work clothing, but also an active contributor to cultural life in Munich. The brand has shown a good hand by opening this new branch, further deepening its partnership with the local community. Support, creativity and a strong design concept – these are the ingredients that make the new store an attraction in the Glockenbachviertel.
Carhartt's beginnings in Europe date back to 1994, when Salomée and Edwin Faeh founded the European branch. Since then, the brand has established a permanent place in fashion and skateboarding culture and attracts both regular customers and new customers with its unique products.
