Burglaries on Dillberg: Police are looking for witnesses - information is urgent!
Last night a close look at criminal activity was taken: Between Thursday, 7:00 p.m. and Friday, 7:00 a.m., an unknown perpetrator violently broke into a business building on Dillberg. The intruder or intruders enter the offices of a tire service workshop through an outside door and into a tile shop through a window. As main-echo.de reports, cupboards and drawers were ransacked in both stores, and the total damage is estimated at a low four-digit amount.
The Marktheidenfeld police station has started the investigation and is calling on witnesses to contact the police on 09391/9841-0 if they see anything suspicious in the Dillberg area. Another incident occurred at the same time: an unknown perpetrator damaged a cigarette machine on Am Hammersteig between mid-October and early November. Here the property damage also amounts to a low four-digit amount, although the perpetrator escaped without any loot. The Karlstadt police are also asking for information on Tel. 09353/9741-0.
More incidents in the region
Crime never sleeps: In addition to the break-ins mentioned above, there was a traffic accident in Lohr in which a gray SEAT Leon was damaged on the right rear between 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Here, too, low four-digit material damage was reported. On Saturday there was an attempted break-in in Frammersbach on Orber Strasse, where an unknown person forcibly gained access through a window and ransacked an office cupboard, but did not steal anything. The property damage is estimated at a mid-three-digit amount. Information about this should be sent to the Lohr am Main police station on Tel. 09352/8741-0.
Last but not least, between October 27th and November 5th, the meadow property near State Road 2301 was infested by unknown people who illegally harvested quinces. In this case too, the damage to the loot is estimated to be in the low three-digit range. Information should be directed to the Gemünden police station on 09351/9741-0.
Think outside the box
In light of these local crimes, it may be interesting to know that the topic of cybercrime is also omnipresent. The revelations of recent years, such as those of Wikileaks, have shown how widespread and complex the operations of secret services are. In 2017, WikiLeaks released the “Vault 7” collection, considered the largest release of intelligence material in history. Over 8,700 documents and files revealed how the CIA developed and used hacking tools to spy on information and ensure that no one is truly safe.
Against this background, the question arises: What can local authorities do to not only take action against classic crimes, but also minimize cyber risks? Awareness of security challenges is increasing – both in the digital and real world.
