Balloons burst: graduation ceremony delights the PAGS Külsheim!
On Friday evening, the Father Alois Grimm School (PAGS) in Külsheim celebrated the graduation of the ninth and tenth grades in the town hall. A highlight of this celebration was the accidental bursting of black and yellow balloons, which caused some surprise and a lot of hilarity in the audience. In his speech, Rector Michael Regner addressed the farewell thoughts and compared the chemical elements hydrogen and oxygen in order to illustrate the special situation of the students.
As part of this festive event, numerous graduation certificates and certificates of commendation were handed out. Parent representatives such as Lydia Goldschmitt and Saskia Dargatz addressed both greetings and words of thanks to the students, striking the right tone. For over three and a half hours, the guests were entertained with a varied program, including entertaining videos and various games. These points reflected the vibrant school community that PAGS has experienced in recent years.
Experience community
The student representatives used the stage to emphasize the sense of community and the good cooperation between the school family. School highlights and activities were also presented, including trips to England and Greece, which gave the students unforgettable memories. The end of the celebration was celebrated with a social gathering and a buffet donated by the parents.
The Father Alois Grimm School, which has operated as a community school since it was renamed in 1984, has a history: it goes back to the 18th century. In 1968/69 the new building for the primary and secondary schools was completed. PAGS has made a name for itself and is one of the 34 starter schools that have functioned as community schools since 2012/2013. Headmaster Michael Regner has been in office on an interim basis since April 2023 and is leading the school into a new and exciting future.
outlook
The graduates now face important steps in their future, be it attending secondary schools or starting an apprenticeship. This conclusion not only marks the end of a chapter, but also the beginning of new challenges and opportunities. In a few weeks we will see where the path takes the young adults. Meanwhile, the PAGS offers many opportunities for future generations with its diverse offerings such as the elective areas of technology and everyday culture.
The Father Alois Grimm School remains firmly anchored in the community culture of Külsheim as a place of education and development and offers a solid foundation for the next generation. Friday's celebrations were further shining evidence that community and cohesion are very important at this school.
