Green light for Munich: Three new electric lines start in July!
From July 1, 2025, it will be really electrically in the Munich district. The MVV regional bus lines 222, 224 and 270 are then completely switched to battery-operated vehicles. This is an important step in the direction of sustainable mobility, such as our-wuermtal.de . District Administrator Christoph Göbel and Pullach's first mayor Susanna Tausendfreund are happy about the changeover and recently visited the new pantograph at the Höllriegelskreuth S-Bahn station, where the buses are charged.
The new fleet is operated by the Money House Transport company, which provides 20 electric buses from the manufacturer BYD. These buses are not only the first in the MVV composite room, they also shine through a well-thought-out design: the batteries are installed in the vehicle floor, which reduces the swaying in curves and increases driving comfort. There is even progress in the background noise - the new lines run almost noiselessly and without local emissions, such as Merkur.de
climate protection in focus
The changeover is not simply a technical innovation, but an important step towards climate -friendly mobility. Every year, over 1500 tons of CO₂ are to be saved by these measures. The new lines combine a total of seven municipalities in the district and sometimes also reach the Munich city area. The operation is also carried out exclusively with certified green current, which improves the environmental balance again.
The funding for this project comes from the Federal Ministry of Transport and the German Building and Resilience Plan (DARP), supported by the European Next Generation. These funds are intended to help promote electromobility that is considered a key technology for a sustainable transport system. The Federal Government has plans to promote electromobility and create incentives from which both companies and private users benefit, according to bmv.de .
ready for market for the future
The new buses are not only a profit for the environment, but also offer industrial policy opportunities for Germany's automotive location. The path to an innovative, sustainable transport system is paved. Lines 222, 224 and 270 have a term of around ten years, until the timetable change in December 2034 they are a load -bearing pillar in the regional mobility structure.
On the whole, it becomes clear once again that clever acts and innovative technologies can achieve real progress in mobility. The citizens of the Munich district can look forward to a new, modern and, above all, environmentally friendly way of traveling.
