The 2026 carnival season in the Neuburg-Schrobenhausen district has officially opened! The next few weeks are peppered with inaugural and coronation balls as well as a variety of events that promise folly large and small.
The highlight for many will be the Coronation Ball of the Neuburger Burgfunken, which will take place on January 10, 2026 in the Kolpinghaus Neuburg. From 7.30 p.m. you can look forward to a festive atmosphere, while the doors open at 7 p.m.
Variety of events
The program until Shrove Tuesday on February 17, 2026 is extensive. This includes guard meetings, children's and senior balls as well as various parades. In particular, the big guard meeting on January 17, 2026 in the Neuburg Park Hall with entry from 1 p.m. is a must for carnival fans. A varied program is offered here from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
As last year, the Neuburger Burgfunken's Rose Monday fun is an integral part, which will take place on February 16, 2026 from 7:30 p.m. in the Kolpinghaus. Another highlight is the Danube swimming by Wasserwacht Neuburg on January 31, 2026.
Carnival parades in Schrobenhausen
In Schrobenhausen, preparations are already in full swing for the carnival parade on February 19, 2026. Here, spectators can look forward to around 30 groups with over 1,000 participants. Under the motto “Schromlachia rocks” for adults and “Samba do Brasil” for the little ones, an exuberant spectacle is expected, with an audience of up to 8,000 people. The parade begins at the Volksfestplatz and lasts around two hours. Food trucks and snack bars at three locations provide culinary supplies. From 4 p.m. there will be a party for young and old in the circus tent, with an entrance fee of 7 euros.
Carnival 2026 – A nationwide festival
