Drama on the A73: Police are looking for a fleeting person who caused the accident!

On Sunday evening, February 3, 2025, there was a serious accident on the A73 between Suhl-Friedberg and Schleusingen, which started around 10:40 p.m. One vehicle rose to another, the exact reason for the collision has so far been unclear. The two affected vehicles skiddown and finally stopped on the hard shoulder. The estimated property damage amounts to around 20,000 euros. At the time of the accident, both a 53-year-old was slightly injured and a 58-year-old was unharmed. The cause of the accident remained on foot from the scene of the accident and currently remains unidentified.

The police immediately reacted to the incident and used a helicopter, drones with thermal imaging cameras and a search dog to find the fleeting driver. However, the active search was discontinued around 3:30 a.m. because the cause could not be found. According to the motorway police, however, the investigators do not assume that the fleeting driver will be in a life -threatening situation.
