Starting signal for the Ice Tigers: home test match and big show on Saturday!

What’s new at the Nuremberg Ice Tigers? Next Saturday, fans can look forward to the only home test match before the start of the season. The team will present itself in full strength against HC Pustertal on its home ice in the PSD Bank Nürnberg ARENA on August 30, 2025.

The event starts in the morning: entry opens at 10:30 a.m., and at 11 a.m. stadium announcer Christian Rupp will lead through the stage program. The presentation will be rounded off with a raffle that will take place at 12:15 p.m. The partner and caterer Ferdin will take care of your physical well-being, although for technical reasons only cash payment is possible on the event site.

Insights into the team and special events

Fans can not only look forward to exciting sport, but also to an official team presentation where they can get to know the players up close. This takes place in the S20 parking lot next to the side hall of the PSD Bank Nürnberg ARENA. Season ticket holders are invited at 12:45 p.m., while the doors for day ticket holders open at 1:00 p.m.

The game itself then starts at 2:30 p.m. And for all autograph hunters: The autograph session starts at around 6 p.m., depending on the weather either in the parking lot or in the area around the arena. The autograph session does not require a ticket to the game, allowing cleaners and fans to drop by at their leisure.

Intensive preparation for the new ice hockey season

Preparation for the new season was hard and comprehensive. From July 30th, the entire team was in Nuremberg and started with a first team meeting and a joint dinner at the invitation of co-partner Andi Kurzer. Before the first ice training session, which began on August 4th, the players completed performance tests and photo shoots, followed by regular training sessions in the weight room under the direction of athletic trainer Christian Bachmann.

So that the players can start fit, the team took part in various preparation tournaments, including the Gäubodenvolksfest Cup in Straubing and the South Tyrol Summer Classic in Bolzano. Such events help build conditioning and team chemistry, which is crucial to a successful season. Summer training is therefore not just relaxation, but also hard work to optimize the fitness and performance of the players, as owayo.de describes.

The test match on Saturday is not only a sporting performance, but also a great event for the fan community to support their idols. So, dear ice fans: Be there when it’s finally “ice hockey time!” For tickets, go to the online ticket shop, and don't worry: season ticket holders automatically have free access.
