Big motorcycle ride for children: Toy Run 2025 in Marktoberdorf!

On Saturday, June 19, 2025, it will be “On the machines, set, go!” in Marktoberdorf. Over 1,000 motorcyclists come together to take part in the annual Toy Run in Ostallgäu. The event is organized by the Toy Run Mod association, which uses this campaign to collect donations for needy children and families in the region. After a weather-related cancellation last year, where constant rain made it impossible to ride the motorcycle, this time there is optimistic anticipation of sunny weather and summer temperatures.

The registration process starts at 1 p.m. at the Modeon festival site, where participants will also receive an exclusive Toy Run bear as a souvenir. It finally starts at 3 p.m.: The column travels at a speed of around 60 km/h over the set route, which leads from Marktoberdorf via several towns back to Modeon. The entire journey usually takes around 90 minutes. In addition to the committed motorcyclists, many onlookers are also expected to take the opportunity to donate and watch what is happening.

A heart for children

The Toy Run initiative, which was first launched in 2003, arose from a moving concern: a child in the hospital had no toys. Since then, the event has developed into one of the largest charitable motorcycle rides in southern Germany. 100 percent of the donations collected go to children and families in need - be it for clothing, school supplies or even shopping vouchers. Last year, despite the rain cancellation, an impressive 15,000 euros in donations were collected, which shows how great the community commitment is. Among other things, support of 1,000 euros was raised from the Nomads MC motorcycle club and 900 euros from the Marktoberdorf action group.

However, anyone on the road this Saturday should be prepared for a few inconveniences. Parts of the route are closed by local fire departments due to the exit, which is why other road users have to be patient. However, this is a small price to pay for the good cause that is supported here. The anticipation of the trip and the opportunity to do good is shared by everyone involved.

An anniversary of solidarity

This year's event also marks a double cause for celebration. The 20th anniversary of Toy Run MOD e.V. will take place in 2025. The route and plans for the charity ride have already been determined, which increases the anticipation for the event. “We have a good hand at planning and organizing so that we can create great memories again this year,” says a member of the club, who greets the upcoming day with a positive mood.

The combination of motorcycling, raising funds for children and celebrating the community together makes this event special. Preparations are in full swing and the anticipation is palpable.
