Cultural highlights in November: concerts, festivals and readings in Schwandorf!
There's a lot going on in Schwandorf again in November! The local cultural calendar offers a colorful range of events that appeal to music and art lovers as well as creative hobbyists. If you look at the offers, it quickly becomes clear: there is something for everyone here.
A highlight of the November events is the concert by the Schwandorf Oratorio Choir on November 16th in the St. Konrad Church in Ettmannsdorf. Not only is the choir's 25th anniversary celebrated, but also its impressive one Requiem op. 48 performed by Gabriel Fauré. Under the direction of Wolfgang Kraus, the choir of the Collegium musicum Regensburg and renowned soloists such as Manuela Falk (soprano) and Martin Popp (baritone) will enchant the listeners. The performance begins at 5 p.m. and lasts approximately 90 minutes. You can look forward to this musical experience for 18 euros (reduced 16 euros); visitors can get cheaper tickets at the box office.[Central Bavarian]
Colorful hustle and bustle in the city center
If you like something a little more exuberant, you can visit the pub festival in downtown Schwandorf on November 8th. Here seven bands move through seven locations and provide musical entertainment on the hour. An evening full of music and conviviality for 15 euros (18 euros at the box office). As an added bonus, you can get an entry wristband in advance!
Another highlight is the wine reading evening on November 11th in the Rupprecht bookstore. Here you can not only try good books, but also fine wines. The event starts at 8 p.m. and costs just 8 euros. Perfect for a cozy meeting among friends!
Creative workshops and film festivals
On November 7th, all creative people among us will have the opportunity to design a mosaic panel out of old crockery and tiles in the MuseumsAktivWerkstatt. From 10 a.m. onwards, people work here with skill and imagination – and the whole thing for just 5 euros. Prior registration is required.
Film lovers will get their money's worth at the Zwickl Documentary Film Festival between November 13th and 16th, which is celebrating a special anniversary: it is celebrating its tenth anniversary. Around 30 performances for an entrance fee of just 2 euros, that's a good offer![Central Bavarian]
Last but not least, there will be a current hour in the puppet theater on November 20th, where Birgit Boeser and Martin Fuchs will provide interesting insights. Admission is free and registration is not necessary.
Schwandorf's cultural diversity
On November 21st, the city library will be the venue for a jungle concert for children with author and musician Britta Roscher, while on November 22nd there will be a reading with Bettina Haller. Your presentation of the baking book “Baking Recipes from the Bavarian Forest” promises enjoyment and entertainment. The cultural offering is rounded off on the same day with an Italian evening in the hospital church, where a musical cross-section of Italian classical music is offered.
Schwandorf has once again established itself as a cultural center in the region. Whether music, art or creative workshops – there is something for everyone here. The motto of the events is: Be inspired and enjoy the diversity!
Further information and details about the events can be found on the organizers' websites or in the city of Schwandorf's cultural calendar: for example at Culture and tourism or directly at Central Bavarian.
