Schwandorf sports shooters win gold and bronze in DM triumph!
Great joy for the sport shooters of the Schwandorf shooting performance group! At the German Championships of the Association of Military and Police Shooters they were able to win not only a gold medal but also a bronze medal in the sporting shotgun disciplines. The event took place at the BDMP's own shooting range in Alsfeld, Hesse, and brought together both amateur and top athletes, as dsb.de reports.
The team consisted of Florian Mulzer, Sebastian Süß, Patrick Wagner and Michael Zilch, who took first place in an impressive time of 27.78 seconds. With a lead of over a second, they managed to overtake the competition from Hanover and secure the title of German self-loading shotgun champions.
Successful individual placements
But that's not enough! The Schwandorf shooters also showed their talent in the multi-distance competitions that opened the tournament: Michael Zilch and Sebastian Süß achieved top places. Zilch secured 3rd place in the High Masters target group with the self-loading shotgun with 107 rings, while Süß achieved 2nd place in the expert class with the repeating shotgun with 99 rings.
- Michael Zilch: 3. Platz bei den High Mastern (107 Ringe)
- Sebastian Süß: 2. Platz in der Expertklasse (99 Ringe)
- Florian Mulzer: 5. Platz in der Marksmanklasse (HIT-Faktor 16,33)
During the course of the championships, the SLG Schwandorf shotgun shooters also expected better chances on the folding target system. The challenge was to hit at least five folding targets as quickly as possible, with the best three of four rounds being counted. Florian Mulzer achieved a time of 9.58 seconds with the self-loading shotgun and took tenth place.
One team, one goal
The entire team showed an impressive performance: Michael Zilch came in sixth place with 8.77 seconds, while Patrick Wagner increased the chances of the first team title with 9.43 seconds. In the end, the Schwandorf shooters not only left the shooting range with a gold medal, but also with the bronze medal from the shotgun disciplines - further proof of their skills and teamwork.
The German Championships, which take place every year in late summer in Munich/Hochbrück at the Olympic shooting range, have now become one of the largest sporting events in Germany. Over 6,000 athletes take part and present a wide range of disciplines, as can be found on svbb.org. In addition to the competitions, the event is also a family festival that attracts large numbers of spectators.
The Schwandorf sports shooters can be proud of their achievements, and we can't wait to see what they will achieve in future competitions!
