New royal couple in Schweinfurt: Sandra I. and Martin II celebrate carnival!
The carnival season has officially opened in Schweinfurt! On November 12, 2025, the Erste Schweinfurter Karnevalsgesellschaft e.V. (ESKAGE) introduced its new royal couple at a happy event: Sandra I. and Martin II. from Eichhorn Immobilien. Both are not only at home in the carnival world, but also well anchored in industry and the real estate sector.
Princess Sandra I. is the founder of Eichhorn Immobilien, where she passionately turns her living dreams into reality. Her partner, Prince Martin II, brings his expertise to the management of Audi AG. “She builds dreams and he hunts game – both with passion, strength and purpose!” is the couple's official motto. Florian Dinkel, First President of ESKAGE, was enthusiastic about the two of them and their connection to tradition.
A strong carnival team
The royal couple lives in Schweinfurt with their three children and have already made many friends through their decades of carnival work, for example as musicians or being active in the carnival procession. The new royal couple also has an interesting connection to ESKAGE: Sandra's training company provided the royal couple Horst I and Helga II in 1969 and her former boss, Udo Homann, was Prince Udo II in 1999. Together they embody the values of down-to-earthness, cohesion and the joy of tradition that are anchored in carnival in-und-um-schweinfurt.de.
There is great anticipation for the upcoming events. The most important ESKAGE dates for the 2026 carnival season have already been set: On Friday, January 9th, the town hall storming and the evening of celebration and honor will be celebrated. The ceremonial sessions take place on the weekends of June 6th and 7th. and 13th/14th February. The grand finale is the big parade on Shrove Tuesday, February 17th. Tickets are available now at eskage.org.
Carnival through the ages
But what exactly is carnival? Its roots go back a long way and are both pagan and Christian. From the Roman Saturnalia to the heydays of the Middle Ages, when masked balls and humorous street parades played a central role, carnival has constantly evolved. Especially after the world wars, carnival became a symbol of joy of life and new beginnings, which still inspires people today sonntagsblatt.de.
In recent decades, carnival has increased in commercial importance; Large sponsors and spectacular mass events are no longer uncommon today. But this has also given rise to a counter-movement that wants alternative forms of celebration, away from consumption and clichés, and wants to make carnival a real source of joy again.
With the new prince couple Sandra I and Martin II, the tradition in Schweinfurt continues - full of energy and joy, with a clear vision for the coming holidays. Cheers to an unforgettable carnival!
