Aubergine in Starnberg: Eleventh Michelin star for top cuisine!

A culinary anniversary is being celebrated in picturesque Starnberg: The “Aubergine” restaurant in the Hotel Vier Saisonn has once again received a Michelin star. This means the eleventh star in a row for the gourmet temple since the first star was awarded in November 2014. This is a great achievement that shows how consistently high quality and exceptional cuisine are valued here. How Mercury reports, “Aubergine” is the only restaurant in the entire region that can enjoy such long-term success.

Chef Maximilian Moser and his team have put in a lot of effort. Moser, who started as chef de partie at the Hotel Vier Saisonn in 2007, has since refined his craft and returned to Lake Starnberg in 2012 after a few stints in Austria. After the previous head chef left the house in 2013, he took over the management of the kitchen and has since developed a distinctive style characterized by creativity and technical perfection. “It’s the detailed work that keeps us consistent,” says Moser, who highlights the hard work of his entire team that leads to this success.

A menu to fall in love with

The vision of the “Aubergine” restaurant revolves around seasonal highlights that serve as the “heroes” of the menu. The goal is to create harmonious and surprising flavor compositions. In an atmosphere for 40 guests, both a five- and seven-course menu is offered, including a vegetarian one, of course. The doors of the gourmet restaurant are open from Wednesday to Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to offer guests a special culinary experience that will be remembered.

Another highlight is coming up soon: On July 26th, a “food festival” will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel, where everything revolves around barbecue, truffle pasta, live music and sparkling champagne. Here gourmets have the opportunity to be inspired by the delicious food and the atmosphere. Tickets are already available online and anticipation is certainly high.

Overall, the new one is outstanding MICHELIN Guide Germany 2025 a diverse picture of the gastronomy scene: There are now a total of 341 one-star restaurants in Germany. Even though “Aubergine” is the only star in the Starnberg-Ammersee region, the restaurant is part of a larger trend towards high-quality, often plant-based cuisine.
