New calendar shows Gilching: historical treasures on 12 pages!
History comes to life in Gilching! With the new calendar “Gilching in Old Views – Work, People, Industry III”, which has just been published, those interested can immerse themselves in the past of the small town. Using historical photos that document the development of Gilching, the monthly pages tell personal stories from locals and bring the old Gilching back to life before the eyes of the readers. The calendar has a print run of 300 copies and is now available in the LayerWerk Museum and the community library Mercury reported.
The editor, Annette Reindel, attaches great importance to the fact that the impressive photos for the calendar must be provided by citizens - postcards are not popular here. In addition, archivist Ursula Lochner took over the research and writing of the texts in order to provide the calendar with exciting anecdotes. For just 12 euros you have the opportunity to immerse yourself in Gilching's past, and demand is pleasingly high, even among former Gilchingers in the USA.
