Eislöwen are clearly defeated: 1:6 in the duel against Straubing Tigers!

The Eislöwen from Dresden had a difficult afternoon on November 2nd, 2025 when they lost 6-1 to the Straubing Tigers. The team, which is currently in last place in the DEL, was put under pressure from the start. Straubing was able to celebrate their first goal in the 9th minute when Alex Green put the puck in the net. Just a little later, in the 18th minute, Nicolas Beaudin increased the score to 2-0 with a counterattack. The Dresden team found it difficult to get into the game and had difficulty asserting themselves against the Tigers' superiority.

In the second third, Ricardo Hendreschke managed to score the next goal for the Eislöwen in the 23rd minute. But the joy only lasted for a short time; In the 25th minute, Nick Halloran made it 3-1 for Straubing. The Tigers didn't let up and scored a total of three more goals by the 31st minute - the preliminary decision had been made. Throughout the game, the Ice Lions had a few chances through Sebastian Gorcik, Drew LeBlanc and Alec McCrae, but were always denied by the opposing goalkeeper.

Injury and next games

The injury to Oliver Granz, who was out at the start of the game, was particularly bitter for the Ice Lions. The Dresden team had to continue playing with only five defenders, which further aggravated the situation. After the game, coach Niklas Sundblad praised Hendreschke and his first DEL goal, but also had to admit that Straubing more than deserved the win.

The next chance for the Eislöwen to improve their table is on November 14th against Schwenninger. Whether there can be a turning point in the season remains to be seen. The Eislöwen urgently need success in order to get out of the lower table region and not lose touch with the competition.
