Callback at REWE: Health-threatening Christmas earplugs!

Because of health risks, Rewe started a call back for a Christmas jewelry set by the J-Club brand. It is reported that the set with ears contains harmful plasticizers that occur in the packaging. More precisely, these are DIBP and DPB, which are present in critical concentrations and may affect reproductive ability and cause development -related damage. Both substances are considered endocrine disruptors and can get into the body through skin contact, especially with soft PVC.

The recall product includes a set with a total of six earlinks, including designs such as red and green buttons, a golden snowflake, a golden star and a green Christmas tree with red balls and a red/white sugar rod. It was sold from November 2024 and bears the EAN 8719955251000 and the article number 851721. Buyers are asked to no longer use the affected product and can return it in any REWE branch without receipt. The purchase price is fully reimbursed. For further questions, J-Club International BV is available at the e-mail address QualityControl@j-club.com or by phone at +31 (0) 36 532 0777.

recall for health reasons

Regular recalls of consumer goods are necessary to ensure the safety of consumers. This is often done for health reasons, especially when harmful substances or defects are found. As the consumer center reports, it is particularly important for food, but non-food products are also affected. Companies are obliged to recall dangerous products immediately if they do not meet the food safety requirements. A central point of contact for information about this recall is foodwarung.de , operated by the Federal Office for Consumer Protection and Food Safety.

The consumer advice centers enable users to simply pursue current warning messages through push, email or RSS notifications. A recently revised portal offers new search and filter functions that enable targeted warning messages, for example on certain allergens or product categories such as baby food. Calls are often arranged due to contamination, incorrect labels or inadmissible ingredients.
