Müller Private Business School: Celebrating 75 years of education and tradition!
The Müller Private Business School in Würzburg celebrated its 75th anniversary today with a special event that left the entire school building at Neubaustrasse 5 temporarily empty for a day. 225 students went on a boat trip on the Alte Liebe, which took them to the impressive summer palace of the Würzburg prince-bishops in the rococo garden of Veitshöchheim, where they spent some unforgettable hours. This was reported by the Mainpost.
The school was founded in 1949 by Theo Müller as a commercial school, at a time when Würzburg was flourishing again after the destruction of the Second World War. The school began teaching in September 1949 and quickly became the first non-denominational private school in the city. Over the years, the institution has constantly developed and has been called the business school since the 1970s. The school has not only grown, but has also set new educational accents, such as the introduction of computer rooms in the 1980s for electronic data processing.
A look at the school history
Over the decades, the Müller private school built new classrooms and was recognized by the government of Lower Franconia in 1960, which resulted in equal status with public schools. These successes and developments are indicative of the committed work of the founder and his successors. In 1999, Theo Müller handed over the management of the school to his daughter Marion Spies, and Hans-Ulrich Zipfel has been in charge of the school since 2005. Ulrich Mahlke has been at the head of the educational institution for four years.
The school community has always paid particular attention to the individual careers of the students. The motto “We want to be a small school family in which no one is lost and everyone feels valued” is reflected in our daily work. A sixth grade was introduced six years ago, followed by the establishment of a 5th grade last year, which has been very well received and is particularly important in the subjects of German, mathematics and English.
A celebration of appreciation
After the boat trip, a ceremony for the staff took place in the school building, at which Barbara Spies, the granddaughter of the school founder and chairwoman of the school sponsoring association, emphasized the importance of the school as a “special educational institution” and a “lively, human place”. These words not only underline the tradition and history of the school, but also the deep-rooted philosophy that is still practiced today when working with young people. The celebrations surrounding the anniversary are clear evidence of the strength of the community, which will continue to be highly valued in the future.
