Three RSV talents in Werder Bremen's sights - McDonald's Cup is coming!

Football is booming in small Rotenburg, and especially in the U10 of Rotenburger SV (RSV). The trio Lionel Jantscha, Léon Fischer and Detjon Hasanaj are now in the spotlight at Werder Bremen, who are offering them the opportunity to train there. Coach Klaas Rathjen is pleased about this award and sees the recognition as proof of the club's hard work. The RSV has achieved a leading role in the region not only through these talents, but also through the drafting of eight players into the new district selection in 2015. There are currently 45 children in the club's training groups, divided into three teams, which are looked after by a dedicated team of ten trainers. A very interesting concept: consistency, regular tournaments and friendly games are the club's recipe for success.

What makes the training so special? The juniors train twice a week on the Ahe sports field and are also allowed to demonstrate their skills once in Bremen. Léon Fischer is already being integrated into Werder Bremen's youth academy, which represents a big step for his development. The young talent's parents support this decision and want him to continue to stay in Rotenburg. This strengthens the region and ensures that talent does not migrate.

Big appearance at the McDonald’s Cup

On June 28, 2025, the RSV will have a big event: The McDonald's Cup for U10 teams will take place in the Ahe Stadium. With a total of 24 participating teams from the region and even further afield, the tournament promises a lot of action. These include well-known Bundesliga youth teams such as Werder Bremen, Hamburger SV, Hertha BSC and many more. Exciting games on four fields, a supporting program with an opening ceremony, face painting, soccer darts and bouncy castles have been announced. There is something for the whole family here, so the focus is on fun.

And that's not all! A raffle with prizes and food and drink stands ensure that no one goes hungry. A very special highlight will be the autograph session with former professional Ailton. The young footballers can find out more about developments in the youth sector, as Werder Bremen's youth management will provide insights into the daily challenges and opportunities.

The challenge in football

But despite all the joy, it is important not to lose sight of serious issues. According to a historical review of the development of football in Germany, there are some challenges that affect both clubs and players. The problem points include early entry into football, fluctuations and the drop-out problem in higher youth classes. These aspects are particularly important for clubs like RSV in order to promote talent in the long term and, in the best case, to support them through to professional football.

Rotenburg relies on innovative and consistent training in order to take young workers to the next level in the best possible way. Football is constantly evolving, and only through commitment and good concepts can success in the sport be increased in the long term.

But no matter what the future holds, today is a big day for the RSV's talents and a great celebration for the whole family is just around the corner. For everyone who wants to be part of the Rotenburg football community, the coming weeks are an excellent opportunity to experience the local stars up close.
