Future visions for Altona: Chamber of Commerce brings innovation and AI into play!

An exciting day for the economy and the creative scene in Altona! On July 16, 2025, the Zeisehallen opened its doors for the “Hamburg Chamber of Commerce on Tour” event. Numerous guests from the business and start-up world came together here to exchange ideas about current topics and developments. Registration was an absolute hit and all places were filled quickly.

The event attracted visitors with a varied program: numerous practice-oriented workshops were offered, including an exciting session by Svenja Teichmann from STF GmbH, which highlighted the importance of a digital mindset for innovation processes. In addition, Patrick Klingberg, a digital architect and expert in artificial intelligence, immersed the guests in the world of AI tools. He explained how AI can be used effectively in marketing, for example through application examples such as ChatGPT and Perplexity. According to Hamburger Wirtschaft, the use of AI is not only more efficient, but also enables deeper market analyzes and the uncomplicated creation of personas - these are typical prospective buyers with specific needs.

Promote discussion and exchange

A central element of the afternoon program was individual consultations with experts from the Chamber of Commerce. Here participants were able to find out about various topics such as founding, financing and sustainability. The “Company Workshop Germany” platform also offered valuable feedback on business ideas and business plans.

The panel “Talents of Tomorrow” provided top-class discussions, moderated by Kathrin Haug, Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce. With discussion partners like Matthias Henze from Jimdo, we discussed how to attract talented specialists. This came as part of a lively discussion about the importance of adapting marketing strategies to the needs of young people, supported by the opportunities that AI offers in marketing. AI-enabled tools, as described in The Digital Talents, can become a decisive advantage here.

Networking and creative industries in focus

The day was rounded off with inspiring conversations as part of the evening program, where development potential for Altona was discussed. Discussants such as Christina Veldhoen from the Neues Amt Altona and Melanie Parr from Science City Bahrenfeld dealt with topics relating to urban development and new usage concepts, which demonstrated the relevance of the exchange between these actors.

Representatives of the creative industries, including Rocko Schamoni and Dörte F. Meyer, presented their work and spoke about transformation and resilience in companies, providing insightful insights for everyone in attendance. There were also numerous suggestions regarding the Chamber of Commerce campaign “We act for the climate”, which focused on linking climate protection and economic action.

At the end of the day, a networking format took place in a relaxed atmosphere that enabled everyone involved to make contacts and exchange ideas. Such events are urgently needed to further promote the regional economy and creative scene and to provide new impetus.
