Merger in the heating market: Burda and Frico create a strong unity!

The merger is making waves: From November 1, 2025, Burda Worldwide Technologies GmbH (Burda WTG) will merge with Frico GmbH. This significant change not only brings with it a new name - the merged company will operate as Frico Burda GmbH - but also a new headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. This is an exciting time for both companies active in heating technology.

Burda WTG, founded in 1990, has made a name for itself thanks to innovative outdoor infrared heating solutions. The products are internationally recognized and considered award-winning. This merger is the culmination of a close collaboration that began in 2018, when Frico AB acquired 49.1 percent of the shares in Burda WTG, to add the remaining 51.1 percent in 2021 and thus fully take over Burda WTG. [Haustechnikdialog] reports that this full integration significantly strengthens and expands Frico's portfolio of radiant heating solutions.

A strong team for the German market

With the founding of Frico Burda GmbH, all sales for the German domestic market are brought together under one roof. From November 2025, customers will benefit from an expanded range of high-quality patio heaters and a larger selection of modern heating solutions. These developments ensure that customers have access to a harmonized product portfolio tailored to the specific needs of the German market.

The new company will focus on offering innovative products, while international orders will be processed directly by Frico AB in Sweden. This represents a further step towards increasing the efficiency and quality of the solutions offered. The focus on radiant heat, particularly in the outdoor segment, is highlighted as an important strategic measure.

A look at the products and the future

Frico already offers a wide range of air curtains, radiant heaters, fan heaters, convectors, air conditioning devices and control systems and is further strengthened by the Burda portfolio. This product variety will help the new Frico Burda GmbH to position itself even better in the industry and to offer customers in the domestic market a clear plus in terms of offerings. [Frico] emphasizes that the integration of the Burda infrared heaters into the Frico range underlines how important these areas are for the shared future.

Overall, this merger shows that both Frico and Burda WTG are well positioned in a dynamic industry. With the aim of permanently convincing consumers of high-quality and innovative heating solutions, the new company will certainly open an interesting chapter in the history of heating technology.
