18 new journeymen in the carpentry trade: ceremonial acquittal in Fulda!

At a recent ceremony, 18 newly qualified carpenters in Fulda-Hünfeld were honored for their outstanding achievements during their training. The acquittal ceremony took place in the picturesque Johannesberg provost, where numerous guests, including relatives and representatives of the district craftsmen's association, came together to celebrate this special moment. The deputy senior master Dominik Frohnapfel warmly welcomed the graduates and emphasized the importance of solid training. “Your journey has just begun, continue to be curious,” he encouraged the graduates, who are now ready to start their professional future.

In his speech, Senior Master Dieter Klüber recalled the starting signal for the training three years ago and described the successful graduates as the “future” of the craft. Particularly noteworthy is the wealth of craftsmanship, which is expressed in the journeyman's pieces that the graduates presented in the “Die Gute Form” competition. The best in the test were Theo Felix Block, Tim Döppner and David Mihm, who were particularly praised for their creativity and craftsmanship.

Valuable support from the industry

The outstanding achievements of the graduates were also recognized by state parliament member Thomas Hering, who focused on the symbolic power of the tool. Jürgen Krieg and Uli Thümmler from the Johannesberg provost also congratulated the young carpenters and emphasized the importance of the event location. The ceremony ended in a relaxed, convivial atmosphere after the awards, which brought the graduates the applause they deserved.

The training itself takes place in the dual system, which means that the prospective carpenters spend time both in the master craftsman's workshop and in the vocational school. It is important to mention that practical training in the company takes priority; it is supplemented by theoretical content at school, where learners learn everything about materials, technologies and craft constructions. According to an overview by Tischler-Schreiner, graduates can expect an average salary during their three-year training: around 771 euros in the first year, around 921 euros in the second year and around 1,041 euros in the third year. These numbers vary depending on location and collective agreement.

The role of crafts in society

The importance of skilled trades cannot be overestimated. These professions actively contribute to the infrastructure of our society and provide numerous important services. This includes repairing bicycles, building apartments, and providing support in sanitary emergencies. According to the Central Association of German Crafts (ZDH), dual training is a guarantee for future-proof careers with excellent further and advanced training opportunities.

The carpentry trade remains not only a place for creativity, but also an important pillar of society that requires lots of fresh ideas and commitment. The trade has a good knack for training young talent, as recent graduates have proven.

With the successful acquittal of the 18 new journeymen, nothing stands in the way of a bright future in the carpentry trade.
