Danger! RhönEnergie warns against dubious door-to-door sales in Fulda!

There is currently a worrying trend in the Fulda area: more and more dubious door-to-door sales are clouding the air. Loud Fulda newspaper Those responsible at RhönEnergie warn against fake energy consultants who unexpectedly show up at the front door. These fraudsters target citizens' personal data and put pressure on their victims using questionable methods.

Those affected report unpleasant encounters in which the pressure to conclude a contract becomes more and more noticeable. These fake consultants often falsely pose as employees of RhönEnergie and try to unsettle people with clever false information about energy prices and contract conditions. A clear signal comes from Dr. Volker Nies, the press spokesman for RhönEnergie: “We never conclude contracts without notice,” he emphasizes.

Do not give out any personal information!

Consumers should be aware that their own data such as meter numbers or contract documents are taboo at the front door. Dr. Nies strongly advises not to sign under pressure and to always check the credentials of the advisor. “An honest advisor has nothing to hide,” continues Nies.

In case of doubts or suspicions, those affected can contact RhönEnergie customer service immediately. The contact options are simple: by telephone on 0661 12100 or by email. This gives consumers the security of being able to withstand pressure that is ignored.

Unwanted Contracts: An Overview

These door-to-door sales are not only illegal, but also pose a great danger to consumers. As the Lower Saxony Consumer Center clarifies, such contracts can be concluded quickly. Often this occurs while the consumer is caught off guard, for example by stories of upcoming contract changes that appear to affect the entire rental property.

Another problem are unwanted telephone calls, which often appear as a regional provider and request personal data. The same applies here: the quicker you react, the better. If you receive unwanted contracts in the mail, you should cancel as soon as possible, as contracts can be canceled within 14 days.

A particularly sad individual case has shown how perfidious the fraudsters' tricks are: an elderly man lost several thousand euros when his debit card and PIN were stolen. The police are looking for the perpetrator in connection with this incident.

The warnings are clear: consumers should be vigilant and not allow themselves to be cornered. Security when dealing with personal data is the be-all and end-all, especially in times when dubious profiteers are at work.
