Festive atmosphere: 42nd tent fair delights Bachrain and the surrounding area!
The 42nd tent fair in Bachrain, a district of Künzell in the Fulda district, is very popular and attracts numerous visitors. Organized by the volunteer fire department, the festival will take place on the sports field from October 10th to 13th, 2025. Fair representative Sebastian Herber, who has led the event for almost 20 years, emphasizes how important the festival is for the community and that it offers fun for all generations. “The fair is a celebration for the place,” says Herber.
On Sunday, 22 fairground couples and the “fairground gnomes” danced under the big tree – a happy spectacle that also attracted CDU state parliament member Sebastian Müller, who saw his daughter dancing. Müller describes the event as an essential part of the quality of life in the region and a festival that appeals to the whole family. Mayor Timo Zentgraf also praised the fire department's dedicated helpers and emphasized the community spirit that is at the heart of the fair.
A colorful program for young and old
The varied program offers numerous highlights on each of the four fair days. On Friday evening, “The 80s90s Liveband” opened the festival, followed by DJ Erwin in the heated marquee – a clear advantage in the often changeable weather. On Saturday the traditional tree setting up followed by the tapping of the barrel took place before “nolimit” invited people to the big party in the evening, with free entry.
Sunday begins with a festive service in the Maria Hilf Church in Bachrain. The fairground gnomes then demonstrated their dance, followed by a three-row dance and the musical entertainment team from the Marching Band Bachrain. The day was rounded off with a performance by the Blankenau Music Association, which created an excellent atmosphere.
On Monday, the last day of the fair, the after work party is on the program from 4 p.m., a welcome opportunity to end the fair together after work with a beer after work. The “Hax and entertainment with the Schlitzer boys” are also a highlight that attracts many guests.
Tradition and community
The fair in Bachrain carries the tradition of German folk festivals, which usually grow out of church celebrations or regional customs. These festivals, which are celebrated in villages and towns, not only offer space for local flavors and traditions, but also strengthen a sense of community. The large number of stalls and attractions run by the volunteer fire department and the fair couples show the great commitment of those involved.
Bachrain is worth a trip this year too, because here you can come together and enjoy a real piece of home - out of time and yet right here and now.
