New restaurant Heimatblick” in Fulda: enjoyment with a view!
A new gastronomic chapter has begun in Fulda: On July 11, 2025, the “Heimatblick” restaurant opened in the Horas district, moving into the former premises of the “Dimitra” restaurant. The operators, Butrint Nivokazi and Rafael Ikonomi, focus on a mix of German dishes with a Mediterranean twist, which not only provides culinary variety, but also reflects the city's cultural diversity. The menu is designed by chef Ikonomi, who trained as a chef in Albania and has lived in Germany for a decade. Nivokazi brings his gastronomic roots with him and previously worked at the “Baroque Bar”. The restaurant offers space for around 100 guests indoors as well as a cozy beer garden with around 80 seats. Particularly exciting: There will be 15 guest rooms on the upper floor, each representing a district of Fulda. Breakfast and lunch are currently being planned; the restaurant is currently only open in the evenings.
Plans for the future
But that's not all. The operators also have long-term plans to make the “Heimatblick” a meeting point in the community. Events and a small Christmas market in the beer garden with mulled wine and barbecue food are on the agenda. This commitment is not only a step in the right direction, but also brings a breath of fresh air to Fulda's gastronomy scene, which is recovering more and more despite the challenges of the last few years. However, there is a positive trend: restaurants and pubs have recovered best, which represents a promising basis for the future endeavors of Nivokazi and Ikonomi.
With their fresh concept and a clear connection to local culture, the operators hope to not only meet the tastes of their guests, but also find a place in the heart of Fulda. The “Heimatblick” could become the new favorite place for many and make an important contribution to the city’s gastronomic scene.
