Neuhof inspires: New family center strengthens togetherness!

A new family center has opened its doors in Neuhof, which is not only a place to come together, but also forms a heart for the community. The need for such a space became clear in the community, which was confirmed by a survey. Since the beginning of May, the center's offerings have been temporarily held in the community center, although a move to the Protestant community center is already being planned for the coming years.

The family center is run by antonius: common man in cooperation with the municipality of Neuhof. Mayor Heiko Stolz (CDU) emphasizes the importance of the center for togetherness and the sense of community in Neuhof. After six months, the events are not only well attended, but also attract participants from all age groups.

A variety of activities for young and old

The family center's offerings are diverse and range from games and craft afternoons to homework help to popular bingo evenings and cooking courses. The bingo events are particularly popular, often with up to 20 participants. The cooking courses are also regularly fully booked, which shows how popular they are. There was even an intercultural buffet recently, where the participants brought dishes from their home countries and thus brought an exciting exchange to life.

After the summer holidays, the center also organized a school festival where children were looked after while their parents had to work. Most events are free, making it easier for everyone to access and further strengthening the community. Future plans and funding opportunities

From November, a reading club for six to twelve year olds will be launched, which will be supported by a volunteer teacher. The family center is financed by antonius, the family center support program in Hesse, the municipality of Neuhof and the Neuhofer Zukunftsschmiede. The committed employees, many of whom are volunteers, do their best to create a positive atmosphere.

The Federal Association of Family Centers supports such initiatives through active advocacy and professional exchange. This non-partisan and non-denominational association offers a platform to spread knowledge and further develop facilities, which is of great importance for family centers in Germany.
