From Monday, October 13, 2025, state road 3128 between the junction of district road 31 in the direction of Trohe and Alten-Buseck will be completely closed due to extensive renovation. This affects a total of 1.5 kilometers, which is to be renewed in several construction phases. Loud Giessener Anzeiger The work begins at the junction of district road 31 and extends to the junction with “Waldfrieden”. In the first construction phase, the asphalt will be milled away and new asphalt layers will be installed.

What can road users expect during the construction period? The diversion will be signposted in both directions along parts of state roads 3128, 3475, 3146 and 3356 via Gießen and Daubaren. The “Flößerweg” commercial area will remain accessible throughout the entire construction work – access is via Alten-Buseck. During the second construction phase, the access from Alten-Buseck to the property at Gießener Straße 16 will remain open. However, there are restrictions on truck traffic, as district roads 31 (Vixröder Straße) and 143 between Alten-Buseck and Trohe are completely closed.

Construction work and costs

The total costs of the renovation work amount to around 700,000 euros. This sum will be borne entirely by the state of Hesse, which is good news for everyone who relies on a future-proof transport infrastructure. Originally, the estimated costs were even 1.1 million euros, which shows that with a good hand and smart decisions, the financial costs could be reduced noticeably, as the Wetterauer Zeitung reports.

A look beyond regional borders

If we look at the broad perspective, road construction and rehabilitation projects are not just local concerns but part of a larger plan. North Rhine-Westphalia, for example, plans to invest around 600 million euros in the renovation and expansion of its transport infrastructure in 2025. These programs cover a wide range of measures, from cycle paths to community infrastructure, according to the press release dated State of North Rhine-Westphalia shows.

If everything goes smoothly, construction work on State Road 3128 should be completed by the end of November 2025. If the right resources and the necessary commitment flow here, things will become a lot easier for all road users and residents in Alten-Buseck after completion. The patience that is now required will certainly pay off - in any case, the blossoming streetscape inspires optimism.
