Art and hope: Horst Dietermann opens a fascinating exhibition!

The Kronberg Forum of the Ewersbach Theological University cordially invites art lovers to a new exhibition. The Dillenburg artist Horst Dietermann is exhibiting his impressive works under the title “On the Road in the Light of Hope”. This exhibition explores the themes of light, life and biblical hope and provides visitors with comfort and confidence. The motifs in Dietermann's paintings vividly combine biblical stories with the reality of life today and express a longing for light, encounters and trust. In particular, special attention is paid to the invitation to rediscover Jesus, the light of the world.

The works of art can be seen in the Kronberg Forum, located at Jahnstraße 49–53. The exhibition is open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Admission is free, and if you are interested, simply register at 02774-929111. A good reason to plan a trip!

Art and colors in the FeG community center

In addition to his exhibition in the Kronberg Forum, Horst Dietermann is also present with other works of art in the FeG community center. His exhibition “ON THE ROAD WITH PAINTS, BRUSHES AND COLORS” will be shown there, inviting art lovers to discover works in different techniques such as acrylic, oil, pastels and watercolors. The works shown are inspired by Dietermann's travels to the south and north and contain themes such as landscapes, light sources and personal feelings.

Particularly noteworthy are the images that reflect paths of peace, blessing and hope. These are also available for purchase and the proceeds go to the Younited Youth Work Youth Leisure 2025. The exhibition can be seen in February and March, with opening times on different days:

  • Dienstag: 09:00 – 12:00, 14:00 – 18:00
  • Mittwoch: 09:00 – 12:00, 14:00 – 18:00
  • Donnerstag: 14:00 – 18:00
  • Freitag: 09:00 – 12:00
  • Sonntag: 14:00 – 18:00

The exhibition is also open after church services, providing another opportunity to experience Dietermann's works.

Interdisciplinary art projects

Art is not only an important language locally. An exciting project that transcends the boundaries of art and faith is currently being presented at the Bode Museum and the Gemäldegalerie in Berlin. The project “The Visual Commentary on Scripture” is running together with King’s College London, which pursues innovative approaches to exploring Christian art. This collaboration combines art historical and theological perspectives and is based on a valuable interreligious basis in which exceptions to Islamic and Jewish faith traditions are highlighted.

The initial results of this project include two short film series, including the “Keys to Christian Art” series, which offers two tours of the collections with a focus on Jesus Christ and Mary. A second series, “Interreligious Conversations,” encourages exchanges about consideration and understanding between different faiths. These conversations will be held in English, with German and Turkish subtitles for better accessibility.

Whether in Dillenburg or Berlin – art and faith come together in many different ways and invite the community to discover and experience the light of hope.
