On June 15, 2025, Hünfeld shone with bright colors and happy faces: the big children's festival “Fairytale and Colorful” attracted numerous little visitors and their families to the picturesque Haselsee. This event, now in its fourth edition, was organized by the city of Hünfeld and offered a varied program that made the little ones' hearts beat faster. East Hesse News reports on the high number of visitors, which Mayor Benjamin Tschesnok noted with great joy. He connects the event with the Hessentag feeling that characterized Hünfeld 25 years ago.
A highlight was the variety of activities: 17 stations around Lake Haselsee invited people to take part. There were great performances on stage from the Mackenzell elementary school, the TKV Großenbach, the wind instruments class 6 of the Wigbertschule and the Hünfeld city ballet. The children's hands-on concert with “Mr. Müller and his guitar” was particularly praised. The children's joy was palpable when they were able to dance through the day with the forest fairy Lysandra.
A successful concept
The organization of the festival received consistently positive feedback. Many visitors particularly highlighted the performances by the Mackenzell primary school. Local providers such as Richters Eventservice, the THW local association Hünfeld and the Café am Haselsee, which even provided free pedal boats for some lively fun on the water, provided for the physical well-being. The city of Hünfeld emphasizes that entry to the festival was completely free, which allowed families to have a great day without any worries.
The children's festival is part of the Main-Kinzig-Fulda cultural summer and is supported by the Hessian Ministry of Science and Research, Art and Culture.
