The Nidderau SPD considers the plans for the new development area Mühlweide 2 to be well prepared. They support the idea of designing the residential area with apartment buildings, terraced houses and individual houses. A neighborhood square as an oasis of calm will also be created, which will offer future residents a nice place to stay. The construction of a new fire station for Windecken and Ostheim is also part of the plan. In a corresponding statement, the Social Democrats emphasize the importance of sufficient parking spaces. According to the Social Democrats, the residential building should consist of three floors plus a staggered floor, which should fit harmoniously into the surrounding area.
Another aspect of the debate is the different opinions on the future use of the areas. The CDU insists on decentralized retail development in the districts and has already called for improvements to the planning. This should include an increase in the apartment building by two floors and a changed arrangement of the individual houses. However, the SPD sees these demands as ineffective and argues that such adjustments would lead to massive planning errors and impairments in quality of life.
