Health Compass: Your opinion counts for Marburg's future!

A lot is happening in the region when it comes to health. A survey called “Health Compass” is currently being conducted on an important path to improving health care in Germany. This survey, initiated by the Oberhessische Presse and the Editorial Network Germany, is intended to obtain a comprehensive picture of the mood on the supply situation and will run until September 21st. The aim is to collect people's experiences regarding their healthcare while creating a clear voice for change in policy. op-marburg.de reports that the survey is anonymous and can be completed in about 15 minutes.

The importance of a functioning healthcare system can hardly be overestimated. Health affects everyone, regardless of age, gender or origin. It is essential for a fulfilling life and general well-being. But the corona pandemic has drastically exposed the weaknesses of this system: clinics have to close because they are not profitable, while there is an acute shortage of general practitioners in rural areas. The nursing industry is also struggling with a staff shortage, both in hospitals and in retirement homes. Long waiting times for specialist appointments are also a tiresome issue for many; patients often have to wait several months for an appointment. Rising health insurance contributions are also putting a strain on many people's wallets.

The health compass

The survey includes various questions about the participants' living situation, their health problems and their assessments of existing health care. The scientifically evaluated results will be published from the beginning of November and are intended to stimulate dialogue with politicians and identify possible solutions. This initiative comes at a time when the challenges facing the healthcare system are becoming increasingly apparent and many people are concerned about the availability and quality of healthcare.

A regular exchange between the population and decision-makers is crucial in order to draw attention to the multitude of problems. The “Health Compass” will certainly make a valuable contribution to developing solutions together. It is also a wonderful opportunity for citizens to contribute their own experiences and challenges. If you want to take part, you shouldn't miss out and get active by September 21st!
